When we master meditation, we can also easily change the minds of our difficulty peaceful or negative to positive. Thus, we will be happy and feel more peaceful.

Meditation is not something that is difficult to learn. The key is to continue to practice. The length of time to meditate depends on the amount of time you have. On a busy day, you choose to May only 10-15 minutes to pass meditation. If time permits, you can always try to meditate for the longest period of up to one hour.

Try these simple steps to begin.

  • Find a quiet place so that you will not get distracted by the noise.
  • Sit in a comfortable position. You can choose to sit with your legs crossed or otherwise.
  • You can also sit on the chair if you wish. Try to keep your back straight enough so that your mind will not become drowsy and you do feel drowsy so easily.
  • Close your eyes gently and breathe naturally through the nose.
  • Turn your attention on your breathing. As you inhale, notice that your stomach expands. When you exhale, it contracts notice. This movement of expansion and contraction in your stomach that you breathe is the focal point for you when you meditate. If you can not feel much of the movement, gently place your hand on your stomach and you’ll be able to feel better.

It is very common that after a little time to note the movement of your stomach, your mind starts to wander off and you start to think about other things. If you notice, slowly draw your attention to the starting point and stomach noting movement. Whenever your mind strays, simply return the focal point.

Do not feel frustrated or give up easily if you think you can not concentrate long on the movement of your stomach. Be patient and continue to practice. With practice, you realize that improves your concentration and your mind wanders off less. Keep an open mind and let yourself time to experience the true benefits of meditation.

When our mind is peaceful, we can experience true happiness. Ask someone if he or she wants to be happy and the answer is certainly “of course!” So meditation is for everyone, whatever their age, race or religion. As long as we want to experience happiness and inner peace, meditation can help us achieve that goal.
