Sometimes a person wants everyone to be left alone. Be sensitive to that and give them the space they need.

Share a funny story or send them a cartoon clipping. The ability to make someone laugh is a real gift to give.

We all get mail, but more often it is noted invoices and statements. Receiving a handwritten letter from a friend bring a smile on the face of any organization.
So you see, you can give gifts every day of your life if you care to, without them ever having to cost you a penny. And no matter how you have been led to believe that only gifts are material value means something, it is the gift of your time and the care that people may change one day, perhaps even their lives.
