When choosing a college, both an online college and a conventional college, one of the most important things that you should consider is the status of the degree and the college that release it. That’s why its really important to understand and acknowledge about the accreditation procedure and how it processes. So, what is accreditation anyway? Accreditation is a standard validation procedure by an authorized associations and institutions of higher learning that do an evaluation to the efficiency of college programs on order to provide high quality of educational level.
The accreditation board is considering lot of factors that closely related to the capability of the college program or the faculty to maintain their quality in order to reward some college programs with a formal Accredited Education Programs. Some of those factors are including programs objectives, missions and goals, college resources, student admission, support services and etc.

In fact the governance it self don’t have an access to interrupt or make their intervention on accreditation boards.
The accrediting agencies is differ in two separate division, which is dealing with different standards, a national standard, whose responsible in measuring the programs against national educational standards. And the regional standards, which dealing with regional college program standard.
Since the procedure to achieve an accreditation for colleges seems to a bit complex, then why an accreditation programs should be important? Both for student and the colleges measuring an accreditation is crucial. For college, an accreditation is important in order to achieved and raise their reputation and prestige along side with quality of their college programs. Since an accreditation is a presentation of the value of their degree. With a good reputation, they could mange to attract new student to get a college degree from their colleges.
And for student, an accreditation is the easiest way when measuring the quality and the status of their chosen college. You would ended up to spend your time and money in no reputable college with unreliable and questionable program where it degree is not consider as a standard qualification for the employers. Obtaining a college degree, both online degree or regular degree from non-accredited educational institutions could be fatal later since there is a risk that the credits earned might not be transferable into other college in case you are moving out. That’s just waste your time for nothing right.
