Basically by using digital processors technology we could convert a words into digital data, which is means invert analog data into digital data. This is one of critical point in IP telephony solution. Since without this technology, we couldn’t transferred the voices and spread it across the IP network. That’s why a Digital Signal Processors are also just called as DSPs, become a key role in this converting process. This process usually being done at 300 hertz to 3200 hertz.
This usability of this DSP technology also used in Cisco system, specially in Cisco IP Telephony solution, although DSP not always means of altering an analog data into digital data. DSP role in Cisco system is also used as media termination point and voice termination via Public Switched Telephone Network or PSTN, trans-coding and conferencing process. In the Cisco solution process, Packet-Voice-Data-Module PVDM-2 are being used as an indicators of maximum amount of session provided. The rules is if we used more DSP in one PVDM module, then the wider of each sessions will be available for used.
A DSP and it connection with IP telephony is one of the basic knowledge of Voice over IP for Cisco users, besides others Cisco -must know- resources like TCP/IP, wireless integration, security and Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices (ICND), -which is available to learned at many ICND training around the net-, etc. All this knowledge is really useful to build a strong fundamental in basic networking concepts and turns it into great skills and the will follow with a successful career. I should not tell you again, how well a Cisco technician are being paid in IT world.
